Hey mother how are you doing this fine rainy (here in Chile)
Monday afternoon???:) Well on the things here in Chile, they are going
awesome!!:) Yeah that lesson with President Isom was really cool, and Alfredo
continues to progress. He wants to get married and baptized!!:) but he is going
to wait until December because the visa of his girlfriend and he wants for his
parents to be here!:) Also Hna Maria is doing really well. She came to both the
sessions on Sunday and she is going to set her baptism date this week!:)
Also we had intercambios (exchanges) with the elders in
Ecuador (Chile, not the country)
and it was so sick. I was with Elder Gardner from Idaho and we found a new
investigator and taught a few bomb lessons on the gospel of Jesus Christ!:)
Then Elder Arizmendi and Elder Bertolio in our sector found 2 new people as well
(Ricardo and his son). So we will see how it goes with them. Also a menos active
we have been working with came to conference and brought his grandson (Vicente)
who started listening to us recently!!:) Then there was General Conference and
it was so bomb!! haha I loved so many of those talks. They were just so powerful.
From Pres. Uchtdorf’s talk on how the Lord will use us. Elder Oaks’ talk on the
Family Proclamation, Jeffrey R. Holland with "toxic perfectionism",
then not to mention Tad R. Callister destroying disbelievers of the truthfulness
of the Book of Mormon. It was just great!:)
"Love without service is like Faith without works, its
DEAD."
-Josè L. Alonso
"Our faith prepares us to be in the presence of
God."
This second one was from Elder Hales, quoted by Elder
Anderson. I know Elder Hales was ready to meet God because of his immense faith
he had in our Lord and Savior. Through this he upgraded from this earthly
life.:)
Man your last week sounds sooo crazy!! That’s so crazy to
think that Chad is already out there in Mexico in the CCM! That is so cool. I’ll
have to wait and see if I get an email from him this week!!:) but man that’s
crazy to think that he is gone. I’m glad that you didn’t cry too much mom ;). Also
sounds like your general conference was pretty sick as well!! I’m glad that all
the fam was out there and how cool you could celebrate Jamie’s birthday with
her!:) That is funny about those 2 quotes, those are 2 of my favorite quotes
from the conference that you shared!:)
(- Heavenly Father uses
ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things - John C. Pingree
- Heavenly Father puts
us in locations with specific intentions in mind - Ronald A. Rasband)
I have seen that happen so many times. The Lord will use us
if we are ready...:) Also he puts us right in the place where we need to be to
do what He needs done:) So thank you for those momma!
Well thank you for the email and I’m glad all is going well.
I hope this week is awesome as well!:) Love you to infinity and beyond momma
talk to you soon!
Love,
Shawners
P.S. I totally called it 😀!!
