Do you wanna build a snowman???

First off how are you momma? It sounds like you had a pretty great week and all with the snow and cold and you built a snow man!!!:) But as for me and Elder Muirhead here in Quellón, or rather in Castro, Puerto Varas, and Puerto Montt; it was a great week! haha. Literally I was here for p-day this last week then Tuesday I did district meeting then went to Castro for intercambios with Elder Peterson!:) then on Wed. Elder Muirhead and Elder Peñeñuri (other zone leader that changed with me), came up to Castro to watch the capacitation with us.

The Capacitation (worldwide missionary meeting) was awesome on the 25th!! They changed the schedule and just basically gave us a little more freedom to decide when we want to do studies and go out and work. Like before we did all studies in the morning, then lunch, then all afternoon proselyting. Now me and my comp changed it to be more effective and put some studies after lunch and we are gonna proselyte a little more in the mornings... I hope that made sense. They also talked about a ton more stuff, but the biggest one I liked that they taught was teaching the doctrine of Christ and also establishing the church where we are at and continuing to carry the habits we are developing now into our lives as well!!:) I don’t know we talked about so much!

On Thursday we went to Puerto Varas to stay the night with the elders there. It is so beautiful there!! Then in the morning on Friday we went to hear from the apostle!! Elder Stevenson was sooooo cool and amazing to hear from!! He talked about our call as missionaries and how we can do our purpose and be successful! We talked about Acts 10 about Peter and Cornelius and "How do I find my Cornelius?" as a missionary. He said that we need to be with the spirit and if we are listening, we will be in the right place at the right time. And we need to remember that the "right time" is on the Lord’s time so we always need to be ready and prepared for the moments when they come!:) We also talked a lot about Preach my Gospel and how it is inspired by God for missionaries to teach and be the best we can be!:) What and who is your Cornelius - whether it be a person, opportunity or a job? Find it and get it!!:) But yeah it was a crazy week and also I saw my dad Elder Thomas at the conference as well!!:) And in our sector Jaime and Pia came to church!! Pia is an interesting (crazy) lady but is way cool and she loved church and wants help to quit smoking, so it’s been really cool working with her!

Whoa that sounds like your week was pretty bomb! but man that is cold. We are in the middle of summer here just chillin’ in like the 70's. It’s really nice. That is sweet that you could feed the missionaries! Do the people feed them every day or just on Sundays? We eat with different families every Sunday then during the week with our mamita the branch pres. wife!:) But I’m glad they loved the maniladas and please mother??? I know what those are!!! Don’t challenge me on food!!;) haha but that is sweet and I’m glad you guys treated them good!!

Oh wow I received Slate’s weekly and he made it sound like it wasn’t a very big deal at all.... but dang it Slate. I’m not even with him and he’s out there getting all sorts of hurt! but no I will definitely keep him in my prayers. I know he’s strong and will stay strong. Also that is bomb about Mare! haha I totally forgot that I had said that last part! but it’s so true I love the scripture that she shared and I think she is gonna do work out there!:) We need to trust the Lord then He will trust us!:) but that is awesome. Tell Crowther hi for me. Who was his daughter that played?? because I knew basically all of them. It sounds like a great Sunday!

That is basically it for me this week and oh man this month just like flew by, like chao no mas enero y beinvenidos febrero (chao no more January and welcome February)!! and cambios next week!! but love you momma and I hope that everything is well there!! Love you to forever and back!!;) stay safe!

Love you momma!!

Hola y Feliz Lunes!!:)

Hi momma how are you doing!? As for me I am doing well here in Quellón and I had a very awesome Sunday and day today as well.:) Yes this last week was crazy. We had the intercambio with Chaitén (the elders in my district) here in Quellón so it was more like divisions but it was so cool. We had a ton of success with Elder Braddock and Camargo here (foto included below). But we went and talked with a menos (less) active family in our branch, then they were at church this Sunday and apparently are now working to go to the temple again. That was so cool to see the change in them (the Vargas family) and see how the spirit helped them!:) Also Elder Camargo and my comp Muirhead found a new guy that just came up and started talking to them! So hopefully we can go meet with him tonight!:) Also when I was with Elder Braddock, we went to one of his old investigators, Fabian, and taught him.:) So we will see if he can continue to gain interest and change his life. Ahh man a TON HAPPENED… sorry one more.. also when I was with Braddock, we went to an old convert of his and she has been inactive for a while, but we talked with her and she is so cool! She loved to see Braddock and we had a great discussion about the love of Christ. So hopefully we can continue to help her build up her faith again!!:)

After intercambios with Chaitén, we didn’t do intercambios with the zone leaders.. but we will do them this week!:) Then Thursday we had Hortencia’s baptism interview. Then on Friday we meet with Jaime and oh man he is so bomb!! He wants to be baptized so bad so we set him with a fecha (date) for the 11 of Feb to be baptized because he needs 2 more church assistances to get baptized. Then on Saturday for Hortencia’s baptism, Jaime came with us! (pic on the bus with Muirhead, Jaime, me, and Waldo our branch mission leader!!:) So on Saturday we went to Castro and had Hortencia’s baptism!!:) It was so cool for her and she was so happy. Also my son baptized her!!!;) haha I’m Muirheads (MOM) haha. Then on Sunday I got to confirm her a member of the church!!:) sorry that’s a lot of info.... haha

Yes I am the district leader here and it is a small district - just us and Chaitén! and we have to do our district meetings through Skype (other pic) but it is fun and that is why the intercambio was so fun because Chaitén never gets to leave that little basically island. Chaitén is like super isolated so you can only arrive by boat and I think on a sketchy road form Argentina... so they came in boat here and next cambio if I’m here we get to go in a boat there!!:) Usually intercambios work like that, one comes here, one goes there; but because they are 5 hours away by boat, they both come here and basically we just do divisions not "intercambios" technically... hahaha

Wow that sounds like a crazy week! Also that is so cool about Forest!! Let him know I say congrats and please send me some fotos!!:) but I’m so happy for him. and also dang I love your work!!:) That is sweet that you and Chad got to go do that!!:) Oh man that is insane about the snow and you say that your gonna get more? Dang it, why is it always when I leave?? haha naw but that’s sweet but stay safe yeah?!

Woah that sounds like a sweet thought I’m definitely gonna go and read that! It is so true. I love Jesus Christ and I know that through him, I can do anything. He is the vine and we are his branches John 15:5. I can’t wait till the day when I can see him face to face and give him a huge bear hug. But until then I’ll continue preaching his teachings and helping others come unto him. Love you momma and stay safe with all the snow and crazy people out there!! I hope that your day is awesome and that your week is even better!!:) Keep being my beautiful momma!;)

Love you to forever and back!

Crazy past week and even crazier one coming...

Hey Momma!!! How are you doing?? I am doing very well myself!:) This last week here in Quellón honestly flew by! It was pretty great. We had a little bit more of lessons fall through this last week, but that’s the name of the game sometimes, so we got to do a lot of contacts! Sadly we couldn’t meet with Denise this last week but we are going to pass by her today! Also this last week we were meeting with Hortencia a lot and also Jaime. But we have Hortencia's baptism this next Saturday in Castro!!:) Our church is under construction here so we are renting some other building at the moment. So we are trying to get everything in line for that. Sadly Jaime can’t be baptized the 28th of January because it is hard for him to come to church. His parents are really strongly evangelical, and they don’t want him getting baptized;/ but it’s all good because Jaime is so bomb and has such a strong testimony! so we will keep working and praying for his parent’s hearts to change!

Also we met some really cool new investigators this week but sadly both are leaving soon... one is named Patricio and is 24 years old! He is humble and loves sports and loves learning about religion. So we are going to talk with him a lot this week before he leaves to Valdivia for school, but then we can pass him to the missionaries there!!:) But overall it was a good week and filled with a ton of good stuff. The work is moving very well here! This last week we also had interviews with President Isom!:) It was cool and he told us about a meeting we have on the 25th for all the missionaries in the world!! He said they are changing some things about the schedule for us but I guess we will see!!

This next week is crazy as well because we have inter-cambios with the missionaries in Chaiten (elders in my district). I do it as the district leader to help them and see what we can do or teach better.:) Then the next day we have inter-cambios with the zone leaders! Then the baptism of Hortencia on Saturday! SO this week will be interesting!:) What I have learned from my companion so far is more obedience.:) I mean like I am obedient don’t get me wrong, but he just has such a strong testimony of it and we are continuing to watch it bless us and the work we are doing here!!:) It has been really cool!

We do a ton of walking here because Quellón is on a hill.... It is smaller than Villarrica, but still big,... haha. Also we have a mamita here and she is the branch pres. wife:) She is pretty cool, and I’ve liked the food so far!:) I’ll try and send a pic next week ok!!:)

Yeah this last week was more calm weather then the last. It was cloudy every day, except for one day really but still not really very hot here... I love it!!:) haha but still we got a little rain off and on and still the same today. Also that is crazy about Orem!! haha oh man I want snow!! I hope it continues to snow there but stay safe ok?!

Woah that sounds like a pretty good week! I’m glad that you made it home ok and that you got to rest a little bit!!:) That is so sick that you got to go to top golf and yeah I’m down to go there when I get back!!;) But I’m glad that you had a good week and got a little date night with dad, did he try to golf at all?

Oh man Brad Wilcox is so sick!! I have a talk of him on our phone called “Learning not earning heaven!” He has some really good insights on the gospel and I want to hear that talk!! but I’m glad that you got that book on cd! (The Continuous Atonement). I love that quote that you shared! Thank you for that. It is so true that we don’t have to be perfect in this life, we only have to learn to be more like God and try to apply it when we can!:) Also thank you for the picture of the plaque! that looks so sweet!:)

Oh man... what the heck happened in football this year.... the Falcons and the Steelers made it to the conference finals?? what the heck??.. hahah It’s all good. The Broncos just have more time to rest and improve until I get home!;) Thank you so much momma for all that you do!!:) Love you and stay safe!!:)

Love you to forever and back,
